Client acceptance and know your customer
Version of 3 November 2026
These rules state who can open an Ifrik account, what we ask for and how we check it.
Who can open an account
- An adult individual acting on their own behalf.
- Resident in a country where Ifrik is offered.
- One account per person. No anonymous account, account under a false name or account opened for a third party.
Refusals
Ifrik does not open accounts:
- for residents of a country subject to an FATF call for action;
- for persons subject to sanctions or asset freezes;
- for US persons;
- where a document is forged, information is inconsistent or requested evidence is refused.
Documents required
- A valid official ID, front and back: national ID card, passport, driving licence, residence permit, or the document recognised in your country (for example the CIP in Benin or the Ghana Card).
- Your national identifier where one exists (NPI, NIN, Ghana Card number…).
- A selfie filmed for a few seconds while following randomly chosen instructions, proving that you are present and that you are the person on the ID.
- A proof of address in your name less than three months old: utility bill, bank or mobile money statement, residence certificate, rent receipt, or a tax notice less than one year old.
- Your answers on your situation, source of funds and regulatory declarations.
- For enhanced due diligence: proof of source of funds (payslips, sale deed, bank letter, probate document…).
Verification
Each file goes through automated checks (document validity and format, duplicates, liveness, face similarity, country risk, sanctions lists) and then a review by the compliance team. Where possible, identity is confirmed against official databases through specialised providers. An answer is usually given within 24 business hours. If one item is missing, only that item is requested again.
Updates and termination
You must report any change (address, situation, expired ID). Files are reviewed periodically according to the due diligence rating. Ifrik may suspend or close an account if information is not provided or if the relationship presents a risk we cannot manage.
